Memorial Day

On this Memorial Day we remember those who have given the sacrifice of their own lives so that we may live as free people.

Yet, there is one sacrifice that has truly set us free and secured our freedom. It is the sacrifice of our Savior Jesus Christ. In His own words Jesus stated, “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45, ESV)

Moreover, Paul wrote, “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1, ESV)

Let us never forget the price that Jesus paid for our freedom from sin and its penalty. As believers in Jesus Christ, let us always give thanks for His sacrifice for us.
