Roadblocks and Detours

if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14, ESV)

There are five roadblocks to revival implied in these verses. Revival tarries because . . .

We do not seek for it in our own lives and our own churches.
We fail to recognize the pride in our own hearts.
We do not pray as we should.
We fail to seek Him with a whole heart.
We fail to pursue holiness by identifying sin and turn from them.

When we, God’s people, will humble ourselves, and pray as we should, and seek the Lord whole heartedly, and repent from our errant ways, then we can expect that God will hear from heaven, forgive us for our misguided ways, and bring renewal to our hearts, and the heart of our church.
