Prayerless Churches are Dying Churches

if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray” (2 Chronicles 7:14, ESV)

You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.” (James 4:2–3, ESV)

Revival tarries because churches have ceased the most powerful work of prayer. There are two major problems that we have in prayer. First, we do not ask for revival. We do not ask the only one who has the power to bring spiritual renewal in our lives and in our churches.

Secon, when we do ask, we ask for the wrong things. We miss the will of God. We realize that it is definitely in God’s will to see people come to repentance and we also know that God wants churches to be alive. He wants them revitalized. when we pray for revival, we are praying in accordance with His will.

Every believer and every church has the ability to call upon God in prayer. James stated that Elijah was a man just like us and he prayed mightily. We can do the same.

Let us all pray for revival in our churches while we still have breath. Let us no quit until the Lord who is the only one who can send revival does so.
